Set next to the mediterrean sea and the airport this golf course is a great choice for golf on the way home or late arrivals!

There are 27 holes which combine links with parkland holes and over the years has been transformed into a demanding course for veterans and accessible for novices.

Queen Victoria spent part of the year in the Malaga region and promoted construction of the club, then in 1925 under the technical direction of Harry Shepard Colt (who designed and built Wentworth) construction began on the primitive 9 hole course.

Later,  under the direction and design of renowned architect Tim Simpson (of Turnberry, Muirfield and Ballybunion fame) it was expanded to 18 holes ( 6,173m, par 72 )

A further 9 holes have now been added giving golfers the option of three different courses to enjoy.

The ninth is a difficult par 3 on a windy day and after refreshing yourself at the tapas bar you can continue onto the 10th.

The twelfth is the most difficult par 5 on the course with a complicated tee shot between large trees, a second shot that leaves no room for error and a shot to an elevated green with a large stream bed in front and steep lopes if your to long.

Miguel Angel Jimenez holed the fourteenth par 5.  from a bunker to win the Turespaña Masters (pga tour) in 1999.

The 18th,  with its birds nest making silent concentration almost impossible, helps to make this hole one of  the most difficult par 4s on the Cost del Sol!, a double dog leg leads to trouble for drivers straying to the left into a forest of large trees, but help is at hand in the way of the refreshment stand serving a large beer as you come off.
